Can I become a creator of Emotions.market?
Anyone willing to "give" and care for the recipient for the experience, can become a creator. Here you can find out more about joining our creative experience providers at emotions.market. It is simple to sign up and create your listing. See our creator zone for more information.
How does it work?
It's free to publish your emotional experience or sensory experience. You will need to complete some fields on the form and interested buyers will see your contact details on your listing page. You will then deal with them outside the Emotions.market platform. You manage your money, clients, and complaints yourself - we are just a classified ad board for emotional experiences. You can buy our experience check service (£25) to get your experience looked at and tested. If it passes you receive a verified badge on your listing, which will give it a better exposure and give your potential clients peace of mind.
How do I create an experience?
Creating an emotional experience is an art, which starts with an emotion. As a creator, you will need to master it yourself. Get inspired by looking through existing emotional experience listings and visit our creator zone to learn more. We use as a base 32 emotions by Plutchik Wheel of Emotions, and three laws of multisensory experiences by Velasco and Obrist (2020):
- Multisensory experiences should be used for good and must not harm others.
- Receivers of a multisensory experience must be treated fairly.
- The someone and the sensory elements must be known
To be listed on Emotions.market it’s vital that your offered experience is triggering emotions or senses. Once you know what experience you want to provide, you are ready to create an experience. It's important you choose the relevant category, provide a good title and description, and choose up to five emotions. You will be asked about the purpose of your experience, potential risks involved etc. It is your responsibility to consider any medical aspects, physical requirements of the user and potential risks. Please be sensible and honest.
How do I identify the emotions linked to my experience?
There are different ways. At a basic level think if you want offer the recipient an emotional release of negative emotions, or an enrichment of positive emotions. It's important to understand why someone may want an emotional experience. You can pick an emotion by taking the before, during and after perspective - what do you want the recipient to feel at these times? Please refer to the names of 32 emotions classified by Plutchik's Wheel of Emotions: Acceptance, Admiration, Aggressiveness, Amazement, Anger, Annoyance, Anticipation, Apprehension, Awe, Boredom, Contempt, Disappointment, Disgust, Distraction, Ecstasy, Fear, Grief, Interest, Joy, Loathing, Love, Optimism, Pensiveness, Rage, Remorse, Sadness, Serenity, Submission, Surprise, Terror, Trust, Vigilance.
What if I cannot link an emotion?
There will be emotions tied to all experiences but if you really can’t think then it may be the emotions.market is not for you.
What is purpose of the experience?
To be meaningful, the experience needs to have a purpose. By formulating it you help emotional experience recipients understand if the experience is suitable for them.
What does it mean - will there be a physical touch between the recipient and the creator?
If there is sensory and involves elements of physical touch then creators are asked to make this clear in their listing.
Who should avoid it?
When creating the listing, consider the kind of person who should avoid your experience. Someone under 18 for example? Pregnant ladies? Someone with allergies? Use of this field can allow you to avoid potentially negative experiences.
Location of the experience
When creating the experience, please indicate the location, i.e., virtual, at home (of recipient), at home of creator, outdoors, at a venue etc., on a moving object and other.
Can I upload media?
You can upload up to 3 photos (300 by 300 px). Please use JPG files.
What are the restrictions?
Please see our terms for full details. We do not allow listings of adult entertainment, medical services, drugs, alcohol, human parts, remains, anything to do with unlocking software and weapons. We are not a directory of service professionals and will remove anything we feel crosses our boundaries Learn what are 5 reasons why your emotional experience should not be listed on emotions.market. This is not a suitable place to advertise medical services - here we work purely with senses and emotions.
Are listings checked?
Emotional and sensory experience listings are checked prior to publication. Read our moderation rules and creator safety guide.
How do I communicate and get paid?
You indicate your price and preferred payment methods on the listing. Buyers can pay you directly in cash, PayPal, bank, NFT etc. We do not facilitate payments. Please agree with your buyer in advance when and how you will be paid.
What if a prospective buyer wants me to change the experience?
It's for you to decide, if you are prepared to make the changes requested by the buyer. Ask them to provide you details and identify the purpose of such an experience for them - this should make it clear if you are a good fit. You do not have to respond to every request. We've prepared some questions to ask in such circumstances.
How to refuse an experience?
Trust your instincts - if you feel that doing this experience for a client would not be to their advantage, or you simply do not want to do it you should not feel pressured into doing so. Explain the service they require is not something you can accommodate. You may wish to signpost the client to crisis helplines or other available support.
How do I get the review?
We do not currently offer reviews.
Can I make an account for a company or someone else?
No, this platform is open to individuals only.
I am a healing and/or medical professional – can I advertise my services?
You are welcome to design your emotional experience and post an ad in sections like alternative medicine, emotional release, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Energy or Companionship categories. However, we are not a directory of professionals, so generic ad posts will be deleted. Medically focussed ads are not suitable for emotions.market
I am an adult worker – can I offer my services on Emotions.Market?
We do not allow ads for adult entertainment. You are welcome to create your unique emotionally-triggering experience in the Play Experiences, Sensory experiences or Companionship categories. Learn about Play experiences involving emotions. It needs to comply with our terms and be about emotions, not adult entertainment. We will be deleting generic or inappropriate ads.
How do experience creators help buyers?
Our creators offer emotional release, emotional enrichment and sensory experiences to emotional and sensory experience recipients for the purposes of having a good emotional state via emotional regulation aiming to achieve emotional balance, manage emotional aggression and control emotional overwhelm, emotional exhaustion and avoid emotional breakdown. Endorphin release can also be wanted by buyers.
