Are our veins weather vanes? How does ‘gorgeous’ weather taste for you? Do you feel incensed by the rising heat? Does the atmosphere…create an atmosphere…? What do we aspire to inspire?
Join artist Becky Lyon for an experimental, multisensory workshop exploring our breath, particularly ‘hot’ breath, as a material as we contemplate the uneven effects of high temperatures and warped seasons on our bodies.
We will tune into our senses of thermoperception, exteroception, pressure, contact, taste, smell and hearing to tune into internal and external atmospheres. We will think about how we might prepare bodies of all kinds for the hot present.
All bodies are welcome – please feel free to contact me in confidence if you have any accessibility needs. The gallery is wheelchair accessible.

- Your bio and contact: Becky Lyon is an English-Jamaican artist, based in London. Her art practice dwells in the sticky intersections of bodies, power relations, phenology, feminist philosophy, softness, slipperiness and earthly curricula. She’s interested in art practice as a tool for re-bodying back into the vibrant, tangly messwork of our ecology which she tunes into as a sourcebook for co-flourishing in times of ruin and growing liveable worlds. Her work manifests as tactile installations, rituals, sensory artefacts, analogue moving image, word-foolery. She is interested in alternative forms of ecological stewardship that resist the current dominant paradigm and is Grounder of Ground Provisions - an artist-led, schooled-by-the-forest for grown ups hosting participatory gatherings, walks and sensory seminars for a range of audiences. She has an MA Art & Science from Central Saint Martins and an MA Art & Ecology from Goldsmiths University and is a volunteer London National Park City Ranger.
