Mythic Sauna

April 21st 2024 | 7pm-9:30pm

A multi-sensory night of storytelling in the gorgeous dream-space of the traditional wood-fired sauna.

A space to remember the power of your imagination and sink into an old tale, spun by expert storyteller Oliver Wallace. The story weaves through four sauna sessions, using steam, scent and heat to open our imaginations and draw us into the tale’s mysteries.

In April we will hear the story of the weirdly wise Fool of the World. It’s a story to open our hearts and prepare us for the more active season that is blooming all around us.

Expect to emerge feeling creatively empowered and full of the dreamy sensations of the story. We are tapping into the deeply human pleasure of gathering in the warm to hear the old tales.

We close with wild tea, and a chance to mingle, refreshed and with imaginations brimming. There is a wonderful sense of community that forms on the evening.

Please bring:

2 towels, flip-flops and something warm to throw on between sauna sessions.

The schedule:

7pm – Arrival – Time to arrive, settle in and change (It can be helpful to arrive with your swimming costume already on beneath your clothes)

7:15pm – 9pm – Sauna and story sessions – Four sauna sessions with the four chapters of the tale. Refreshing cold plunge and herbal drinks between.

9pm – 9:30pm – Wild tea and warm conversation.

Foraged teas and a last session in the sauna, a chance to mingle and chat or just linger in the sensations of the story.
