This gentle yet effective treatment uses subtle techniques which help release adhesions in the body’s connective tissue caused by past accidents, operations, trauma (physical or emotional) and can help with pain relief for those with Fibromyalgia or M.E. The fascia runs through the whole body from head to toe and runs through and around muscles and organs. When there is a restriction, the body can be pulled out of alignment. Fascial release helps the body to ‘let go’ and correct itself.
Before treatment I will carry out a consultation with my client to complete an in-depth medical questionnaire and an assessment of how their body is aligned. The body is treated as a whole to allow for a subtle change in the connective tissue and to allow it to re-align itself.
I trained with the School of Bodywork in Exeter, which has a unique approach to Fascial Release and treats the whole person in a supportive and non-intrusive way, by allowing the patient to be held in a ‘safe space’ as we work together to allow any necessary bodily changes to happen.
I am also qualified in Scar Tissue Relief, which builds on Fascial Release techniques to help with softening scar tissue and releasing adhesions from past operations and accidents. This can help with pain relief and restricted range of motion.
Fascial Release may be beneficial for:
Pain resulting from past injuries and operations.
Chronic pain from Fibrymylagia and other conditions where there is chronic soft tissue pain.
Pain caused by poor posture or work related lifting and repetitive strain.

- Your bio and contact: I have been an independent consultant for NYR Organic (Neal’s Yard Remedies) since 2009 and after several clients had asked me about having more in-depth treatments, I decided to study to become a Complementary Therapist. I am VTCT qualified, a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and fully insured to carry out a wide range of massage treatments and organic facials. I am also qualified and insured to provide my therapies to clients with Cancer and life limiting conditions and am a member of the Complementary Therapy team at North Devon Hospice, where I see patient referrals weekly.
