The name Forest Bathing is a translation of the Japanese term ‘Shinrin Yoku’ which literally means Forest Bath. the meaning of this is to bathe in the atmosphere of the Forest and does not refer to any physical kind of swimming or bathing.
The Japanese began Forest bathing back in the 80s and today there are Forest Bathing Guides all over the world guiding people back into Nature to find peace, deep relaxation, connection and meaning. The practice has now been subject to a vast amount of research and has been scientifically proven to be an effective support for mental health illness and physical/emotional health and wellbeing too.

Overview
- Category: Travel
- Purpose of the experience: Explore and enjoy Forest Bathing
- Will there be a physical touch between the recipient and the creator? : No
- Pick an emotion(s): Acceptance, Interest, Joy, Serenity, Submission
- Location of the experience: Outdoors
- Risks involved: Forest Bathing is very safe but of course, there is still a small chance of slipping or tripping on uneven surfaces. This is very rare though because we deliberately walk very slowly so can be mindful of where we are placing our feet. There is no tree climbing (unless you want to!) and no big hikes to go on because the distance travelled is not important. Plus I am fully first aid trained so you are in very safe hands and I always carry a first aid kit. I also ask you to fill out a simple health and safety form in advance of the event so I can be aware of any health conditions.
