Bushcraft Taster Days
Our Taster Days are designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. If you’re a complete novice and have never done anything like this before, don’t worry. All of our staff have experience working closely with people to help achieve and get the most out of their experience.
Throughout the day there will be plenty of hands on time to learn different skills, as doing, is a much better way of learning than sitting and watching. We will then all move on together when everyone is ready.
Taster Days cost £75 per person for people aged 16-18 on the day of the event, and £85 for adults over 18.
We will provide hot and cold drinks throughout your day with us, a basic lunch in the middle of the day, a hot cooked meal before you return home at the end of the day.
What will you get up to on a Bushcraft Taster Day?
Learn how to use a knife safely – Learn about different cutting techniques, tool care and best practices.
“Cross the River” – This is an activity designed to get you thinking about how you can use the natural woodland to your advantage.
Tinder Collection and Tree Identification – Learn about different tinder and how different species of tree are used for fire lighting.
Fire Lighting – Learn a range of different ways, and we guarantee, by the end of the day, you’ll be able to light and sustain a fire.
Shelter Building – Find a suitable location and build a shelter out of the materials available around you.
Water Collection & Filtration – Identify where and how to collect water, and how to make it safe and suitable for drinking.
