The concept of Forest Bathing originated in Japan in 1980s and is called Shinrin-yoku. ‘Shinrin’ means forest and ‘yoku’ translates as bath.
Forest bathing is simply about being in the forest atmosphere for the benefits of health and wellbeing.
There are now significant number of studies from Japan that prove that shinrin-yoku/ forest bathing can have numerous health benefits:
- Reduced blood pressure
- Lowered stress levels
- Improved cardiovascular and metabolic health
- Improved sleep
- Helps to lose weight
- Lowered blood-sugar levels
- Improved concentration and memory
- May lift depression
- Increased anti-cancer protein production
- Improved pain thresholds
- Improved energy levels
- Balanced immune system

In this session you will learn new ways of enhancing your own nature experiences whether you choose to spend time in nature on your own or with others.
The added benefit of Forest Bathing+ in a group setting is that added ease of a community support of the session facilitator and other participants. Sharing and hearing others share their observations and thoughts can resonate deeply and equally expand our horizons.
