Launched in 2021, the Scottish Sensory Hub is a new development for the sensory loss sector in Scotland. Drawing experience from deafscotland (formerly the Scottish Council on Deafness) and SCOVI (Scottish Council on Visual Impairment), the Scottish Sensory Hub acts as a platform for the voice of lived experience for anyone living in Scotland with Sight Loss, Hearing Loss, Deafness, Dual Sensory Loss and Deafblindness.
The Scottish Sensory Hub acts as a connecting bridge between the Scottish Government, public bodies, the third sector and individuals, and enshrines a human rights-based approach for all. It focuses on three key themes of communication, information and mobility, and looks to uphold the social model of disability throughout the sensory landscape in Scotland.
The Scottish Sensory Hub endorses the Scottish Government’s See Hear strategy this link will take you away from The Alliance website. It looks to support partnerships to uphold the strategic aims of See Hear, to engage with individuals and organisations across the sensory landscape and act as a platform for the authentic voice of lived experience within the sector.
